The Cherry Orchard
West Virginia University's production of The Cherry Orchard.
Director: Jerry McGonigle
Costume Designer: Mary McClung
Firs- A lifecast was taken of the actor's face and head and a head wrap was taken from the lifecast. To achieve the costume designer's look, the actor was to wear a bald cap and have a receding hairline. Lace was laid over the head and the back of a stock wig created a base for the wig. Wefts were sewn in the back and then the remainder of the lace was ventilated with synthetic. Yak hair was added around the temples to create a flow into mutton chops. Two mutton chops were also ventilated with yak hair and were formed to fit the actors face.
